Ingredients

Chai Hu 15g
Huang Qin 15g
Hou Po 15g
Zhi Shi 15g
Yin Chen Hao 15g
Zhi Zi 20g
Da Huang 15g (add near end)
Mang Xiao 10g (dissolve into final decoction)

Subsitutions:
In the UK, Mang Xiao must be substituted. It can either be left out, or replaced with Yu Li Ren.


Preparation: Decoction.


Actions: Harmonises Shaoyang and Yangming, clears Heat and purges clumping.



Notes:
This is a modified Da Cheng Qi Tang which incorporates elements of Da Chai Hu Tang and Yin Chen Hao Tang. It is used in modern China to treat acute pancreatitis. It first appears in the literature available to me in the Chinese article:
